I am happy you are here

I am Danielle, but please call me Dani.

Colorado Wedding Photographer

I picked up my first camera at five years old, 34 years ago. I learned photography as the photography world was changing, from film to digital. My basics are rooted in the original concept of film, but modernized and more sophisticated in digital.

I can smell snow coming 12 hours before the first flake lands and will always choose hot Chai over cold on any day. I stop for fresh cut flowers and pull over for epic views. I live for mountain air, homemade pizza on Friday nights, and the sky doing something unreasonable sunrise or sunset. “To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered,” stargazing is a cherished past time. I am someone who believes being present in the moment.

I've been photographing weddings since 2019. Deliberate, done with everything I have. It’s about that one photo per wedding that makes a couple gasp and say that's us. The image where the light, emotion and location arrive at the same moment.

That's what I'm here for. Every time.

Shooting Approach and Philosophy

“The mountains call my name and I must go”. I know it’s cliche, but it’s true. I spent the first 24 years of my life immersed in them, and when I don’t live near them, I yearn for them :)

I'm based in Boulder but I love to explore other places. When I first moved here, the Flatirons captured my heart the first time I saw them, and Maroon Bells, Ouray, Silverton, the meadows inside Rocky Mountain National Park are all on my bucket list to shoot.

On a wedding day I come in quiet, observing, reading the room, I figure out where the light is going. I'm not in your face — I'm warming up, paying attention, staying out of the way while the day finds its rhythm.

I'm genuinely easy to be around. I can talk to anyone, your great aunt who has opinions about everything, your college friends who are already three drinks in, your future in-laws who are still figuring out how to feel about all of this. Every personality in the room, I've got them. They are all my new best friend.

I will shed a tear or two during your ceremony, hiding behind my camera, naturally, and act like dust is in my eye. Followed by herding your family into family formals. Finally we will have a moment to breath as we dive into the most important photos of your wedding, the ones you hired me for.

This is the moment I've been building toward all day. The photos you'll actually print. The ones that end up framed, shared, passed down. I bring everything I have to this time and I am fully locked in. The more you give to me the better the photos and the more I give.

What I need from you is time. More than twenty minutes. Venues like to fast track a timeline, and I need enough time to move through the light with you, to hype you up, to slow you down, to find the moment where everything clicks. Light, location, the two of you — and nothing else matters.

I can easily do photos in 20 minutes, but the more time I have, the better the photos are…

The EXPERIENCE

Couples and Planners

You’ll Feel at Home in Front of the Camera

You don’t have to be a model to get incredible photos. I keep things laid-back and fun—whether that means playing your favorite music, including your dogs, or turning your session into a mini adventure.

Timeless Edits, True Colors

I want your photos to feel as real years from now as they did on your wedding day. Natural skin tones, deep greens, and colors that won’t look outdated in a decade—these are the images you’ll treasure forever.

Open, Ongoing Communication

From the moment we start working together, you’ll have my personal cell number. Call, text, or message me anytime—whether it's a last-minute question, a timeline tweak, or even years down the road when you want to share an anniversary update. I’m not just your photographer for one day—I’m here for the long haul.

You've invested much for this day

I know what you've put into a wedding before I ever walk through the door. For the planners who have revised the timeline fourteen times. The details you sourced, styled, and arranged so that everything looks exactly right. The relationships you've built to make this day run without a hitch.

My job is to protect all of that, and to make sure you have images that show it off long after the couple has left for their honeymoon.

I Arrive Early and Keep Pace

I arrive at least 30 minutes early. Every time. If you've ever had the thought where is the photographer — that won't happen here. And if something unexpected comes up, I solve it myself. I'm not going to put that on your plate unless it's genuinely outside my lane.

I stay on your timeline. I know you built it for a reason and I treat it that way.

I capture your details, the fresh floral and the table designs, the stationery, all of it — because I understand those photos aren't just for the couple. They're how you book your next client. I shoot with that in mind: variety, horizontal and vertical, and intentional white space so your images are ready for social media the moment you need them.

Communication

I communicate. If something comes up or a question arises, I confirm before I assume. You won't be chasing me down for answers.

An honest, working relationship is what I'm looking for. I send my couples to planners I trust — because when I find someone who cares about a wedding the way I do, I get genuinely excited about what we can build together. Referrals go both ways here.

If you're a planner or venue manager in the Colorado area and you'd like to connect, I'd love to hear from you.

Let's make each other's work better.
